The Rotary Club of New Bedford, Massachusetts was founded in 1921. We are comprised of local business and community professionals who care about our area and strive to make a difference. We are People of Action, who have followed and believe in our Motto of "Service Above Self". The club’s main objective is to serve the greater New Bedford community. This is done by participating in local service projects, and by raising money that we donate to those in need. Our donations and projects this year include: Honoring Veterans as we marched in the Veteran's Day Parade; cooking and serving 100 Thanksgiving Dinners to the homeless; ringing bells for the Salvation Army's holiday drive; filling 100 backpacks with facemasks and hand sanitizer for children; providing and wrapping Christmas gifts for the children's home; providing 100 packets of personal care items to the Women's Program; and scholarships to local high school students.
The Rotary Club of New Bedford is one of more than 35,000 Rotary International Clubs in over 200 countries, serving the community of greater New Bedford and the world at large. The Rotary theme this year is "Imagine Rotary" Dream Big and Take Action.
We invite you to take a look through our website and learn more about the history of our Club, attend a Rotary meeting as our guest, receive our weekly newsletter (the GAM), and much more!
Yours in Rotary,
Cheryl Barrett
